RATES | VALUES | TIME TO BUY?
We are fast approaching the 2024 SPRING market here in the DC-region & Eastgate Subdivisions. With that said, you have a few things going for you: INTEREST RATES ARE STILL HIGH - FHA,VA and Conventional are now in between 7.825% and 8.765% (as of the beginning of December 2023) The more you put down (20+%), the lower the rate – vs the less you put down, the higher the rate. ALSO: Subject to Credit Score, Loan Amount, Sales Price, Income vs Debt Ratios.
When I bought my townhome in Eastgate One in 2018 for $415,000 – I got a rate of 4%, and refi’d to 2.5%. My property is now also worth $650,000 (I upgraded substantially AND I’m an end-unit.) If you UPGRADE, there’s a better chance you’ll get your money back ++ when you SELL. Our properties, when listed and priced correctly, on average are sold within 3-5 days.
